I'm designing a light by using laser cutting for myself.

IDEATION
Reflection of IDEATION:

After going through this ideation process, I realized the importance of identifying the target audience and researching information before starting to design a product. Previously, I did not always follow this approach when designing lighting products because I think it's hard for me to decide at the beginning. However, now I understand that it is necessary to determine these factors beforehand to create a solid initial concept. By considering the target audience, I am able to think about the type of lighting I want to create, which provides a strong foundation for my design.
ITERATION
First Model by using laser cutter
Reflection of ITERATION:

I found that making a paper model first is useful for the afterward designing. Before this project, I never tried to make paper models for initial concepts. However, this time, I found that a quick paper model provided me with a general idea of where I needed to focus my efforts during the later design process. I learned that making a paper model first is a useful step for enhancing the final design.

FINAL PHOTOGRAPHY OF THE NIGHT LIGHT
FUNCTION
- A night light.
-While providing me with moderate brightness at night, it also serves as a decorative light, which can produce beautiful light patterns.
(the reflection makes it looks like a small UFO)
CONTEXT
-Put it in any dark place
(The patterns it produces can make people less afraid in the dark)
(Pattern: Pisces star sign)
CONNECTION WITH MOOD BOARD
-Geometric

About this Night Lighting Design:

This is a night light that I mainly designed for myself and placed on the bedside floor. This night light can provide me with a glimmer of light at night, allowing me to see the ground clearly when I leave the bed. At the same time, it also has a beautiful appearance and can produce a beautiful light pattern as a decorative light. The pattern on this lamp and its shape like a UFO are based on my own preferences. I want it to be able to relate with the stars and space while using geometric shapes.
Reflection of FABRICATION STAGES:

Through the fabrication stages in my design process, I learned that obtaining feedback is crucial for improving the functionality of my product. Feedback from other people can help me to refine the design and ensure that it met the intended purpose. When getting different feeds, it also allows me to constantly reflect on the main purpose of my design, allowing me to continuously and effectively develop my design.
